WHO IS GRACE FOSTER
Charis Johnson, AKA, Grace Foster is a 20-year-old singer-songwriter & Producer from Laplace, Louisiana. She was entranced by storytelling at a young age. with a love of literature & film, she recognized her propensity for getting swept into fictional worlds, but it wasn't until she turned 13 when she truly discovered her passion for songwriting. Ever since she has been trying to blend her love for Alternative Rock, R&B, Folk music, and film scores into something of her own, seeking to tell authentic and cinematic stories through her music.

Her stage name was inspired by her parents telling her every day "remember who you are." Grace is the meaning of her real name, and Foster comes from her personal motto "Foster All." this phrase encompasses what Grace hopes to accomplish through her music and art. as a believer and follower of jesus, she hopes to cultivate and be a part of a culture that is focused on spreading love, giving hope, speaking faith, and seeking redemption.

Her first single, Ideas, was inspired by one of her favorite films, Inception, and is a glimpse into the potential of her songwriting ability. In late 2019,  With the release of her two singles "No Sleep", an indie/bedroom pop influenced track about insomnia  and "Take It or Leave It," an OVO style break-up anthem, she showcased her ability to create music in two different styles and feels, while still staying true to who she is as a songwriter.

On may 8, 2020, Grace Foster released her debut EP, "Heart Hurts My Head." Inspired by the phrase, "your mind will justify what your heart has chosen," The EP is a self reflective view on how Grace's own decisions have hurt her.  With 6 songs, beginning with her single "Anxiety" and ending with "Anxiety Pt. 2," Grace Foster weaves a powerful story about struggling with your own thoughts and feelings towards yourself and others, and ultimately how what you choose to believe effects who you are.
